How to read this rd calculator

Recurring deposits combine contributions made at different times. Match your bank’s quoted rate, installment dates and maturity rules. This simplified projection excludes missed-installment charges and premature closure adjustments.

Worked example

Twelve ₹1,000 beginning-of-month installments at 0% produce ₹12,000. At an 8% nominal annual rate compounded quarterly, the same model produces approximately ₹12,529.33.

Method and assumptions

Convert the quarterly factor (1 + annual rate/4) to a monthly factor by taking its cube root. Add each installment before applying that month’s growth.

Equal deposits arrive at the start of each month. The nominal annual rate compounds quarterly, with an equivalent monthly growth factor for deposits between quarter boundaries. Banks may use different installment dates or broken-period rules. No tax or late-payment penalties are modeled.
