SWP Calculator
Estimate how systematic withdrawals affect investment value over time.
Break-up
How to read this swp calculator
Compare total withdrawals with the remaining balance. A high withdrawal can exhaust the fund, even with a positive assumed return. Actual fluctuating returns can cause depletion earlier or later than a constant-return projection.
Worked example
₹2,500 initially, ₹1,000 withdrawn monthly and 0% return pays ₹1,000, ₹1,000 and ₹500. The fund is depleted in month 3; total withdrawals are ₹2,500.
Method and assumptions
Monthly growth is applied first, then the withdrawal. The last withdrawal is capped at the available balance, which never becomes negative.
The balance grows at an effective monthly rate before each month-end withdrawal. A final withdrawal is capped at the available balance; the result shows the depletion month. Constant returns, no fees or taxes.
